According to the latest data from the World Health Organization (WHO) and its International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), breast cancer has now surpassed lung cancer as the most frequently diagnosed cancer worldwide. In 2020 alone, there were approximately 2.3 million new cases, accounting for 11.7% of all newly diagnosed cancers, slightly exceeding lung cancer at 11.4%. This trend was confirmed in the 2021 World Cancer Day (February 4) report, marking breast cancer as the most common cancer globally.
Breast cancer is not only widespread but also presents a unique opportunity for innovative treatment approaches. My Intra-Tumoral Chlorine Dioxide Injection Therapy began with three clinical cases, all of which were breast cancer patients. Due to the prevalence of breast cancer and the feasibility of direct intra-tumoral injection, these patients became pioneers in the clinical application of this therapy. I am deeply grateful for their contribution, as their courage and participation have set an important precedent for future clinical applications.
On this International Women’s Day, I hope that this groundbreaking therapy will serve as the greatest gift for breast cancer patients—bringing real hope and a path toward recovery.
